its pretty spotless pro sounding tunes this week all round (myself excluded - but yeah its an instrumental for a rap track that i recovered from an hd so its not really that workable anymore - need to record vocals,…and fill it up with addlibs that takes some room with fx and so on. . )

hmmm - i really like it. its proppa robo fuck music lol. only thing is its a little bit too ‘bright’ or clean for me - id prefer less hi-s and maybe a bit more reverb but thats just taste - its perfectly executed what you have made here, i think. really pro sounding - good on a system stuff.

i like the bit where the vocal is rolled out but i can see a pov of not wanting to just use a vocal as it is without a lot of editing - like giving too much attention to an acapella or feeling like its ‘cheating’ to do that more than this… .

i dig the sample? the beat is imo maybe too wonky? and stops too soon haha but i am bad with this style so i could be really of. hm i personally dont like the snare maybe its too bright for the style i like those percs that pan though maybe a sound like this as the main snare clap?
but the rest is nice i like beat later more too

yeah its very quiet which isnt bad so you can raise if needed easily hm. i dig the hi hats here add alot
808 nice too. maybe switch up the loop every now and than the piano one. with rap i might think dif would have to hear it with rap too. very unique sound like idm trap but not the commercial one like actually idm trap. this part at 2.17 is nice just 808 and melody.
maybe take the 808 away abit so it hits harder when it comes back now its just there. kinda even hypnotic haha maybe some vocals like that repeating patterns could work you know what i mean like doesnt even have to be super thoughtful rap

tbh its just that with these quick instrumentals i almost start and finish them in one go, instead of getting bogged down in finetuning details until i’m sick of the track and never finish it -_-

@Jizz very interesting sound design and progression, really digging the understated vibes towards the end
i feel the pulsating drone in the first part is a bit too loud compared to other elements though, or maybe you could EQ or play with the stereo space so the other elements cut through the mix more
also maybe that intro could use some incidentals or something, or be shorter… then again i like how it builds tension tho, maybe just layer something in there
wouldnt change much in the second part, maybe bring it up so its on par volume wise woth the louder first part
@BudSpencertron nice one. mixdown sounds a bit gritty on my headphones tho.
also i would say while its a good tune production value-wise, i feel that compared to the other grime bits you posted over the last tunas it lacks that special personal touch… like it sounds more generic and less Budspencertron-y
then again maybe if you just add a synth
@knobgoblin ha found myself zoning out to this, feeling that synth that creeps in around the 6:00 mark, somehow makes me think of a dubbier version of starkey’s planet mu stuff

yeah @BudSpencertron this one works for me a lot better! The mix is a lot more powerful now when those low end elements can really punch through and be dramatic
@Jizz I really dig this. Beautiful sound and composition. I like the dichotomy between the loud droning first half and the more pointillistic second half. Very nice.
@faultier Im really into VeryUnsanitary. It sounds like a project I’ve been trying to get off the ground with another producer friend with the conceptual framework of Delta Dub. Wanting to combing delta blues with electronic music.
